What is a Slot?

The slot is a term that describes the rectangular area on the ice between the face-off circles of an offensive zone and the blue line. The term can be used to describe two distinct areas on the ice: a low slot, in front of the goaltender, and a high slot, in the middle of the ice above the face-off circles. This area represents the most potential for scoring without a deflection. However, it is also one of the most dangerous areas to score from, so players should play their hockey wisely.

The word “slot” means “slave of technology.” In other words, it means “the shackle of technology.” If you’re an electronic gadget junkie, you know what I’m talking about. It’s the kind of person that simply can’t live without their gizmos. This describes many urban teenagers. A SLOT could be a girl or a boy. This term is a common one in the media, and the definitions of Slot are very similar.

Computers with expansion slots are also called “slotted” computers. These computers have pinholes that connect to additional hardware, often a motherboard. These cards contain circuitry and add capability to the computer. A computer’s slot is a narrow, elongated opening. Often, a computer’s processor is installed into an expansion slot. If the computer does not have a slot, it would have no expansion port. If you want to add more functionality to your computer, a slot is an ideal solution.
