\"Poker\" <\/p>\n

Poker is a game of chance where each player competes to develop a hand using five cards. Players may discard or replace cards before the hand is complete. The best hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n

Each player must put in a certain number of chips to the pot. This is known as the ante. In some games, the ante is required before the cards are dealt.<\/p>\n

Cards are usually dealt face up. A player can shuffle their own cards or have the dealer do it for them. Depending on the rules of the game, a player may also be required to make a pre-deal contribution to the pot.<\/p>\n

After the deal, each player has the option of betting. Betting begins in clockwise order, and each round of betting ends when all players have checked.<\/p>\n

Ties are broken by a high card. If no one has a pair, then a high card outside of four of a kind breaks the tie. Another high card breaks ties when two or more people have a pair.<\/p>\n

If a player has a pair of kings, it is not as good as a straight flush or a five of a kind. Two separate pairs of cards plus the fifth card are called secondary pairs.<\/p>\n

Players may raise their bets, which is called “sandbagging.” They can also be forced to make a bet, if the other player makes a bet of a lower amount.<\/p>\n

During a betting interval, each player has a turn to bet, and the turn passes from player to player. When everyone is checked, a new betting interval is started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
