Poker is a card game played by two or more players. It is a game of skill, where a player’s luck can play an important role, and where bluffing may be necessary.<\/p>\n
The object of the game is to win the “pot,” which is the sum of all bets made during one deal. The pot is won either by having the highest-ranking poker hand or by making a bet that no other player calls. Poker can be played with any number of players, from two to 14, but the ideal number is 6. The game can be a very conservative game, in which all players check their hands at every betting interval; or it can be much more aggressive, with players raising and calling bets and investing more of their money into the game.<\/p>\n
In the latter case, a player can have up to five cards in their hand; the best possible poker hands are: Royal Flush (A, K, Q, J, and 10 of the same suit); Straight Flush (five consecutive cards of the same suit, not in a sequence); Four of a Kind (four cards of the same rank); Full House (three matching cards of one rank plus two pairs); and Pair (two different cards of the same rank).<\/p>\n
A tournament is an organized event at a store or convention that allows players to compete for prizes by playing their favorite game multiple times within a specified time period.
