The game is fast paced and the players bet chips (representing money) into the pot in the middle of the table during each hand. At the end of each hand, the highest hand wins the pot. Each player starts with 2 cards and then aims to make the best 5 card \u201chand\u201d using those cards and the five community cards.<\/p>\n<p>The game is played in rounds and the winner of each round gets a pot of money that\u2019s 29 less than his or her stake (plus any chips that he or she put into the pot). The winning hand must contain a pair, a straight, a flush, or a full house. The high card rule breaks ties in the event of two equal hands.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting writing isn\u2019t about telling someone what you think happened \u2013 it\u2019s about describing what happens and why. Personal anecdotes about your experiences playing poker can be interesting, but they won\u2019t be as effective as a detailed account of how you won or lost a pot against your opponents.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to know your limits when you\u2019re writing about Poker. Don\u2019t get caught up in your ego and try to play with stakes that you can\u2019t afford to lose, and don\u2019t be afraid to fold when you don\u2019t have a good enough hand.
